what? more ham?!

Xan and Kurt arrived two nights ago. The next day… when a location for lunch was bandied about… I, of course suggested Mike’s Famous Ham Place. Yes, we went there again. I figured that Xan and Kurt needed to experience this so off we trotted there and they too loved it.

Kurt is a bit of a cake and pie fiend. We saw it up on the board… and although hesitant, Kurt ordered a sliceĀ  of lemon pie. His conclusion? It was really good pie… and he raved about it for the rest of the day.

And… no… I wasn’t the least bit sorry that I had a ham sandwich two days in a row… it is that good. And to mix it u a bit I decided to also have the bean soup… and it was excellent – a hearty bowl of yumminess just as the split pea was the day before.

A lot of the day was involved with planning today’s shoot and driving around the city of Detroit. Since B Roll video was primarily shot the day before when Tommy and I drove around… I took this opportunity to take some pictures. Here are some of them.

As you can see, it is the quintessential big American city. And boasts some pretty impressive and robust architecture. This place must have been something to behold in it’s glory days. And even though I noticed there has been improvements since I was last here seven years ago… there is still a ways to go. There are still large parts of the city where it still looks like the picture below. But… hey, forward motion, eh?

Like I said, the rest of the day was planning of the shoot. In the evening a lot of the shots for what will happen today was planned and revised. We are all hoping the weather will hold… at least until the planned shoot is over. The weather forecast states rain for most of the weekend. It was ttoo the llast couple of days but there was also pockets of fair weather as well… and we are hoping for more (fair pockets, that is) today.

I have also resolved to refer to Kurt as Mogul Fitzpatrick for the rest of the shoot. The picture below might provide an indication as to why.

OK… now off to get ready and head off to location.

With the previous post I’m all caught up in the backlog… so, postings from this point forward will be the most recent episodes of this ongoing adventure.

Cheers!
