Eleven years… eleven years, I tell ya! Yep, that’s how long I’ve had a presence on the interwebs… at least via this blog.

You may ask (and why shouldn’t you?) if some kind of commemoration will be exploding forth… some sort of celebratory mayhem involving food, drink, explosives and a naked parade, perhaps? Not likely. Sorry. This day will come and go like many others before… as it should. About the only thing commemorating this minor milestone is this post.

From my first post till now it has been an adventure… both the writing and the living part. Some of the living part has been recorded here… a lot hasn’t. Very early on I had decided what to share and what I would not. These self imposed rules have served me well. In fact, these are the same rules I still abide by both here and in other online communities like facebook.

I used to be a lot more prolific. Now I’m lucky to get a post out once a week. Circumstances… and a few distractions have determined the slow down of my output. Though, (to my credit) I have not given up my blog. Many have given up… and I miss them.

When I started blogging it was indeed a different time. It was a sub-culture with a myriad of sub-cultures within where online communities formed. Through it friendships (even romances) were sparked via the sharing of themes and other fun activities. The world became at once both wider and smaller through this sharing.

One (at least me) would wake and seek out a handful of blogs to read. Perspectives were insightful as bloggers poured out what was swimming in their minds… just as I did. Sure, some blogs were better than others and through some judicious surfing one would (and could) pick out and bookmark which to follow. For me, the ones that resonated the most were the ones that dealt with the experiences of everyday lives.

They still do.

So… yeah… eleven years… and here we are.

Cheers!
