who wears a beret at a baseball game in Detroit?

Apparently, I do. This particular one was a gift from my late friend, Randy. I think he would totally appreciate the humor of this.

I’m going to change things up a bit. Get a little current then work backward to catch up on what I couldn’t post from the train. So, the picture on top was me at Tiger Stadium watching a game between the home team and the Mariners. How did all this come about? The Facebook message below was from  one Tommy  Nugent two nights ago when I was in Chicago.

I can pick you up on one condition – I take you immediately to a Detroit Tigers game. My cousin Cindy bought 4 tix but only she, my dad and I can go. And I may have forgot a little you were coming tomorrow, so the Universe conspired to send us to the stadium!

Forgot a little?! Hahaha!

Yep, pretty much off the Wolverine between Chicago and Detroit and to the game. Along the way this is what I passed through…

Although my ticket was for Detroit I  got off the train in Dearborn… one stop earlier as it was easier on Tommy to pick me up there. We then drove over to his house… dropped of the equipment (for what? more on that later.) then headed to downtown Detroit for the game. Of course, here are some pictures.

Those who know me will tell you that I’m not exactly a sports fan… but I enjoyed myself. People were happy being there and really that is all that matters. Yes, hotdogs and soft pretzels were consumed… I even participated in the 7th inning stretch.

I did wonder however if folk would still go to the game if it was conducted like in the old days without the constant flashing graphics. Classical Baseball, ya know?

Anyway, I was thankful for the experience. Plus it was an opportunity to hang with Tommy, his cousin, Cindy and his Dad (who at angles could pss for the older Paul Neuman.)

After the game was done… I was driven to Tommy’s Dad’s place where I’ll be staying for the next few days.
