Da Count – being sought out

dacountNot by the FBI, that is.

Last week I received a phone call from a local business owner. This is the message he left.

“Hey Lecram… I want to run something by you – pick your brain for an idea I have… give me a call at your convenience.”

So, I did. A meeting was set up and and taken. Today a second meeting was taken. As I rode to it I ran across some blue haired ladies parked on the median. Each of them were faced in different directions painting scenes of their choosing. As I rode along I scanned their work and was impressed.

The meeting went well. What struck me was that this individual over the years has developed successful businesses (which still are) in my neighborhood… yet he sought me out to for insight and expertise on this present idea simply because… as he put it me,

“This is an extension of what you do… you have the pulse for this more than I do… you know about this without even thinking about it.”

As I rode back after the meeting I mulled over what he said. I suppose I do. I also thought about how this has been happening to me more and more of late… people seeking me out to pick my brain and opinion on what they perceive my expertise may be. I still get taken aback when it happens… and that’s a good thing. I guess my experience in what I have done (which is somewhat varied) does count on some level… at least enough for others to seek out in their endeavors… that’s something, isn’t it?

I wonder where and when the blue haired lady artists are meeting next.

EDIT: A SECOND COUNT

Where flying machines falling out of the sky are concerned the happy results of what happened yesterday must be taken note of and even celebrated. In an exception I will applaud the media for “over playing” this story… as a “good news” story should. That is something count worthy in my book.
