Da Count – scratching an itch… or two

Spread the love

We all have those flights of fancies. Different ones at different times in our lives. For the few of you who have followed along over here on this blog know that on occasion I will dive head first into an obsession or two. (That is SO not like you, Lecram!)

dacountIn the realm of videos… there was the epic movie phase, the disaster movie phase, the documentary phase (just to name a few)… and of late it has been the British crime drama phase.

This one commenced early last week. In fact, I spent the better part of Thanksgiving Day engrossed in a British crime drama series or two. Perhaps it’s because they (the British) do the dank, the dreary and the grim rather well… and for some inexplicable reason that is what I’ve been drawn to of late.

This latest obsession has included such series titles as “Above Suspicion“, “DCI Banks“, “Cold Blood“, “Luther” and “Case Histories“… just to name a few. Mind you… not all of them are exceptional (the latter two I’ve listed are worth the watch though)… but I will even sit through the more pedestrian fare just to satiate my craving. (Yeah, I know I’m tripping into junkiedom.)

So, why is this my count this week? Simply because the technology that is readily available these days (and all at our fingertips) allows me to scratch pretty much any itch I happen upon with such ease and convenience… at least where videos are concerned.

BTW… I think this particular itch is waning and might just be relieved pretty soon… just so you know.
