it is the middle of June…

Spread the love

… and so far we have survived the first of the hot days of Summer. (105 F last Saturday, yo!) Oh, there will be more. We’ll survive those too.

It is Summer in the valley afterall. Heat is what is to be expected. Yet, there are those who still whine and groan about it. As if that will make things any cooler.

At least, so far, the humidity has stayed low. Though I don’t hold much hope for that if the last 3 years has been any indication. Humidity levels has risen from what it was when I first arrived on these shores. I hold the sprawl of development partially responsible.

Added to all of this is the drought we are going through. Last week over 5 days I noticed as many incidents of branches of trees in the neighborhood crack off and fall. One was more than a branch – entire tree snapped in the middle. I would say that is evidence.

Yeah, I’m living in heat in a drought affected area.

That just means making adjustments. One being my work day schedule. It begins at 3 AM now. That way I am done by 11 AM with a break for lunch and a nap after. I also try not to do anything outside between 3 and 7 PM.

So, for the most part life chugs along. And who knows… there could be an adventure or two to be had. Nothing planned at the moment but that hasn’t stopped me before.

Be well.
