Da Count – documentary frenzy

Spread the love

dacountI’ve been watching a lot lately. (Oh no… Lecram is in another one of his “phases”.) And no… not just because of the current project I’m engaged in… but simply because I love them.

I am prone to the historical stuff. Throw an archeological dig into the mix and I’m hooked. I’ll even watch the bad or slight ones if there is a dig involved.

Re-enactments I’m not so thrilled about. I just think they “cheese things up” and pad where there is not enough content.

One of the most engaging ones I have seen lately is Michael Wood’s “Story Of England”. The premise is both simple and brilliant – to discover the entire history of the country based on one town. Here is the first 15 minutes of episode 1 (of 6). (BTW… I think this youtube user has uploaded the entire series… just sayin.)

So I’m counting my latest documentary frenzy because it continues to remind me that there is still so much more to learn. On my watch schedule today… “Filthy Cities”.

Cheers!
