the weekend was filled…

Spread the love

… with work on 3 computers. Restoring 1 that I’m selling. Prepping 1 that will be my primary and setting 1 up to be my editing work station. It all took less time than was anticipated. All I can say is… Thank God for the invention of external hard drives!

THE “COOLER HEP” QUOTIENT

So on the Beehive the other day there was a post that included this video.

Yes, the story happens to be true and the reunion was arranged by the George Adamson (of “Born Free“) fame. OK… it’s a pretty neat video despite the innocuous (and manipulative) soundtrack attached to it. (I’ll admit that I bawled like a baby when I first saw it.) The point being, I had seen this video a while back (about 9 months ago) and the news services (including NBC & ABC) had only discovered it about 2 weeks ago.

So, the question is… if you come across a video early (in it’s run)  that eventually catches the imagination (and goes wildly “viral”)… does it make you feel “hepper” because you did? Does it raise you in the ranks of the “cyber cool” or does it just confirm that you spend way too much time in front of the computer on the internet? And finally… how much exactly is “too much time” on the internet which slides you from the ranks of “cool” into the cluster of “geekdom”?

Oh, BTW… this is the first post from the new primary computer. WOOT! Yeah, this may be a rolling post.
