it needed it

My stove in the kitchen, that is. A good cleaning. So, I spent the latter part of the morning and the early afternoon armed with simple green, gloves and a scrub pad to get the job done. I even lifted the burners and cleaned under it. (A 1 to 1 bleach/ water solution does wonders to also cut the grease.) Impressed? You don’t have to be. I’ll be impressed for all of us… which I …

the final stretch…

… for the show at the Fringe this week. The cast and crew are back… they left after the show on Saturday night. Dave came by last night and we hung out for a bit and gabbed about the trip. Only Vye, our crack stage manager and I knew that the reviewer for the San Francisco Chronicle was in the audience Saturday night. Figured that the cast didn’t need the distraction or pressure while performing. …

If you live in the Bay Area…

… have friends who live there, are planning to travel there this weekend or next… do consider this. (Click for a bigger more readable version.) ARMED WITH COFFEE AND SMILES… The TALE END krewe for this week… Jess, Vye and Dave leave for the San Francisco Fringe Festival. The picture was taken just before they left. Yeah, they are excited and a little nervous but once they get their first performance out of the way …

woke at 1 AM with a side splitting headache

It felt like one of the sinus variety. So, I popped 2 asprins and sat up for a bit for the effects to take. It finally did at about 2:30 AM. The irony was that I had actually hit the sack early because today is going to be a busy one. Lot’s of cleanup to do… that is key because we have an open rehearsal tonight of Tale End with an invited audience. They leave …

yep, chipped it down to a hill

… and most of it was done yesterday. Sure, there still is more to go but now it seems more manageable somehow. Bet you thought I was joking about “laboring” this weekend, huh? TALE NEWS Had a good rehearsal last night. Things are clipping along quite well in that arena. The playing style is firming up without the loss of that sense of spontaneity needed to pull it off. I will be the first one …

mr. grumpy pants

I have to admit that I’ve been feeling that way for the past few days. I will also admit that a lot of it has to do with the fact that in all probability I will not go up to the SF Fringe to see my show TALE END play there. It was also a break that I was looking forward to… a bit of respite from my present norm. As Mr. Grumpy Pants I …

the weather has been…

… great the last couple of days. So much so,I decided that we take a “mini pot luck” break at yesterday’s rehearsals. It was one of the few times we could just hang as a company/ There was fresh watermelon and grapes fresh from my garden as well as crackers and cheese courtesy of Dave. And to wash it down some wine and beer. Greg came by for a “gun lesson” and I think it …
